I began my artistic career the same as most - with crayons and printer paper as a child. A playful and creative pastime became a passion. When I was older I began taking private lessons with a local artist. In High School I participated in 3 college-prep programs, attended Art All-State at the Worcester Art Museum in Worcester, Massachusetts, and traveled to world-renowned sites of art and architecture in Europe with my school's art department.
My appetite for art and all things art-related became insatiable. I was accepted to Massachusetts College of Art and Design in December of 2007. Torn as to what major to pick, I chose animation - lured by the possibility of breathing life into characters I have been creating since childhood. As a Sophomore I submitted and screened a short film at MassArt's "Squealing Pegs" - a juried animation school show. I took 'continuing education' classes over the summer breaks to keep my drawing skills fresh. I traveled again to different parts of the world to study works of art and artistic cultures first-hand. I then applied and attended a summer animation program at Gobelins l'école de l'image in Paris, France.
I graduated in May of 2011 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Animation from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. After graduation, I packed my things and relocated to Los Angeles, California. I am continuing my education in animation and someday hope to open my own animation studio.
